Yuasa REC50-12I 12V 50Ah cyclic AGM battery
Solar batteries
Solar batteries store photovoltaic production for use when the panels are not generating. This range includes AGM, GEL, stationary lead-acid and lithium solutions for off-grid installations and residential self-consumption. The right model depends on system voltage, daily energy demand, required autonomy and compatibility with the charge controller and inverter.
Choose by technology and application
- AGM: sealed option for moderate cycling and low-maintenance systems.
- GEL: suitable for cyclic use and gradual discharge in off-grid solar installations.
- Stationary batteries: designed for large battery banks and extended autonomy.
- Lithium and LiFePO4: require the internal or external BMS specified for the model. Check usable energy, temperature limits and permitted system expansion.
Capacity, voltage and compatibility
Start with the nominal system voltage—12, 24 or 48 V—and then compare Ah or kWh. Size usable energy from daily consumption and the autonomy required. Check the manufacturer limits for charging current and depth of discharge. Lithium systems may also require communication between the battery and inverter.
Backup power during a grid outage is only available when the inverter and electrical installation support a dedicated backup function. For off-grid systems, size the battery together with the panels, controller and inverter.
Frequently asked questions
Which solar battery does a home need?
Use night-time consumption, simultaneous power, photovoltaic production and the desired level of autonomy. Compare usable kWh rather than nominal capacity alone.
Can different batteries be mixed?
Do not mix technologies, capacities, ages or states of charge unless the manufacturer explicitly allows it.
