The battery isn’t at 100 per cent. It arrived with a charge of between 40 and 45 per cent. 12.12 volts
I had to charge it using a smart charger and got a surface voltage of 12.74 volts. 25 hours later, it read 12.52 volts – it retains about 85 per cent of its charge – ‘it should have given me more than 12.60 V’. That’s fine, but not what I’d expect from a new battery. I then fitted it to the car, and it holds the voltage well during start-up, as I saw a minimum reading of 10.50 V. <br /> Time will tell how it really performs, bearing in mind how long my batteries usually last. If it lasts 11 years like the one I’ve just removed, I’ll be happy. If it lasts 4 or 5 years, I won’t be happy...
