    Choose the right replacement for your car

    Before fitting the VARTA A9, check the 207 × 175 × 190 mm space, positive terminal position, connections and hold-down as well as the 50Ah capacity and 540A starting current. The same car model may require different batteries depending on engine, year and equipment. Fuel type or engine displacement alone does not establish compatibility.

    Capacity and starting current are different ratings

    The 50Ah rating is nominal capacity; 540A describes cold cranking current. When comparing 50Ah car batteries, check technology and dimensions too: similar or higher capacity does not automatically make a battery suitable.

    Are matching dimensions enough?

    No. Required technology, voltage, polarity, terminals and mounting must also match, with suitable electrical ratings. Do not downgrade an AGM or EFB technology required by the vehicle.

    How do I check polarity?

    Positive terminal on the right. Check the terminal positions on the actual battery and their orientation in the vehicle; do not rotate the battery to compensate for cables that do not reach.
