Saft Primary Lithium Batteries
Saft offers a comprehensive range of primary lithium batteries, from single cylindrical cells to complex battery packs and battery systems, catering to diverse applications. Saft primary lithium batteries are built using three distinct technologies:
- Lithium-thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2) for LS/LSH/LSP cells, providing a high and stable operating voltage of 3.6 V.
- Lithium-sulfur dioxide (Li-SO2) for LO cells, offering an operating voltage of 2.8 V.
- Lithium-manganese dioxide (Li-MnO2) for LM/M cells, delivering a stable operating voltage of 3.0 V.
These batteries exhibit a wide range of current capabilities, from a few microamperes to more than 10 A pulses for select LO and LM/M cells. They also feature a broad operating temperature range, with reliable performance from -60°C to +85°C, depending on the specific cells, current drain, and environmental conditions. Our LSH 20-150 cell even operates safely at temperatures up to +150°C.
With Saft's primary lithium batteries, you can expect a long shelf life, with annual capacity loss ranging from less than 1% to a maximum of 3% when stored at +20°C, following the cell's stabilization period. These batteries offer an extended operating life, typically exceeding 5 years and reaching up to 20 years or more for certain applications.
