Victron Quattro 12/3000/120-50/50 230V Inverter Charger
The Victron Quattro 12/3000/120-50/50 230V Inverter Charger belongs to the Quattro inverter charger product line from Victron Energy.
The name of this inverter charger indicates that the voltage of the inverter is 12V and the continuous power (non-linear) at 25°C is 3000VA. The battery charging current has a capacity of 120A and the maximum power current is 50A x each AC entry. The AC power has an output voltage of 230V.
Victron´s Quattro inverter charger product line
Victron's Quattro Inverter Charger is perfect for off-grid professional marine, yachting, vehicle and onshore applications, as well as grid-tied PV and other alternative energy systems.
The Quattro combines a powerful pure sine wave inverter with an advanced battery charger and a high-speed AC transfer switch that also makes it possible to connect to two independent AC power sources while automatically connecting to the active power source.
In addition to these fundamental capabilities, the Victron Quattro Inverter Charger has a number of advanced features, listed below:
The primary output has no-break capabilities. In the case of a grid failure or when shore/generator power is cut off, the Quattro assumes control of the supply to the connected loads. Because it occurs so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds), computers and other electronic devices will continue to function normally.
Only when AC is present on one of the Quattro's inputs is the second output live. This output can be used to connect loads, such as a water heater, that shouldn't drain the battery.
A split phase AC source can be created by connecting a Victron autotransformer.
A three-phase output can be configured using three units. Not only that, but up to four sets of three 15kVA units can be connected in parallel to produce 144kW/180kVA of inverter power and 2400A of charging capacity.
The Quattro inverter charger is a potent battery charger. As a result, it will use a great amount of current from the shoreside supply or generator (16A per 5kVA Quattro at 230VAC). Each AC input can have a current limit set. The Quattro with the PowerControl function will then recognize other AC loads and utilise any extra energy for charging, preventing overloading of the generator or mains supply.
PowerAssist extends the PowerControl idea to a new level. Because peak power is frequently required for a short amount of time, the Quattro will compensate for insufficient generator, shore, or grid power with power from the battery. When the load drops, the excess power is used to replenish the battery.
System configuration:
- To modify the settings for a standalone application, a DIP switch configuration technique can be used to do it in a couple of minutes.
- The VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software can be used to configure parallel and three-phase applications.
- With specialized software for certain applications, stand-alone, grid-interactive and self-consumption applications can be configured, including grid-tied inverters and/or MPPT solar chargers.
When paired with a GX device such as the Gerbo GX (not included in the product), you can monitor, control and operate your Quattro on site (computer and MK3-USB interface required) or remotely using Victron Remote Management (VRM) free portal application or website.
