The inverter charger and solar charge controller Victron EasySolar-II 24/3000-70/32 MPPT 250/70 GX is an all-in-one energy solution consisting of a Multiplus II inverter charger, a solar charge controller SmartSolar MPPT-Tr, an AC distribution system and a GX device with a 2 x 16-character display, all in one box with minimal wiring.

The MultiPlus II Inverter Charger combines a powerful true sine wave inverter with an advanced battery charger and a high speed AC transfer switch. In addition to these fundamental capabilities, the MultiPlus II has a number of advanced features, listed below:
Output power can be increased by operating up to six Multis in parallel. The configuration of three units can be made for three-phase output in addition to parallel connection.
The maximum generator/shore current can be set using the Multi Control Panel. The MultiPlus will then consider other AC loads and use any additional loads for the load, preventing overloading of the generator/ground supply.
The concept of PowerControl is extended with this feature: the MultiPlus II is able to increase the capacity of the substitute source thanks to it. When full power is only frequently needed for a short period of time, the MultiPlus II Inverter/Charger will ensure that any shortfall in shore power/generator power is immediately made up by battery power. The battery recharges using the additional energy when the load is reduced.
Using state-of-the-art "adaptive charging" software, the main output provides the battery system with a strong charge. The software adjusts the three-step automatic process to battery condition and adds a fourth stage for extended float charging. The MultiPlus II will also charge a second battery using a separate trickle charge output designed for a main engine or generator starting battery.
The MultiPlus II inverter/charger provides the high starting power needed to start high inrush loads, such as power tools, power converters for LED lamps or halogen lamps.
The power consumption of the inverter in off-load operation is reduced by approximately 70% when the Search Mode is activated. In this mode, the Multiplus II turns on every two seconds for a short time while in inverter mode and turns off when there is no load or a very light load. The inverter will continue to run even if the output current exceeds a predetermined threshold. Otherwise, the inverter will shut down once more.
The programmable relay is initially configured as an alarm relay, which means that it will turn off in the event of an alarm or pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, input ripple almost too high, battery voltage almost too high too low).
The SmartSolar MPPT 250/70-Tr charge controller implements MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker) technology for ultra-fast monitoring of the maximum power point, which optimizes energy collection and storage, either It is of photovoltaic (solar) or wind origin.
In cloudy conditions where the intensity of sunlight varies constantly or in conditions where there is no wind, MPPT charge controllers compared to PWM (pulse width modulation) charge controllers provide better charging performance of the battery, optimizing energy harvesting by up to 30%.
Victron Energy's BlueSolar MPPT charge controllers have an intelligent short-circuit-proof battery charge output function that disconnects the charge output when it reaches the preset voltage, without discharging any comthe battery completely. In this way, the battery is kept in optimal conditions, increasing its useful life.
BatteryLife, a charging algorithm that modulates disconnection levels, manages the battery intelligently: avoiding partial charges and discharges that affect battery life and guaranteeing a battery charge close to 100%. Automatically recognizes battery voltage, using a flexible charging algorithm that protects against over-temperatures and reduces power at high temperatures. Cooling is done by natural convection.
AC distribution consists of an RCD (30 mA/32 A) and four AC outputs protected by two 10A and two 32A circuit breakers. A 32A output is controlled by the AC input - it will turn on only when AC is available.
Victron EasySolar II 24/3000-70/32 MPPT 250/70 GX can be accessed remotely and settings can be changed using the Victron VRM website (Victron Remote Management) when connected to the Internet.
The integrated GX device includes the following interfaces:
- A BMS-Can interface. This can be used to connect to a compatible CAN-bus managed battery. (Please note that this not a VE.Can compatible port).
- A USB port
- An Ethernet port
- A VE.Direct port
The GX device controls the MultiPlus-II and the SmartSolar MPPT-Tr with respectively a VE.Bus and a VE.Direct connection.
