    I hope you're well

The battery fits the space perfectly; I hope it lasts a bit longer than the last one I bought for them, which only lasted two and a half years.
The courier company was absolutely terrible!!,

Choose the right replacement for your car

Before fitting the VARTA A13, check the 187 × 140 × 227 mm space, positive terminal position, connections and hold-down as well as the 40Ah capacity and 330A starting current. The same car model may require different batteries depending on engine, year and equipment. Fuel type or engine displacement alone does not establish compatibility.

Capacity and starting current are different ratings

The 40Ah rating is nominal capacity; 330A describes cold cranking current. When comparing 40Ah car batteries, check technology and dimensions too: similar or higher capacity does not automatically make a battery suitable.

    Replacement, charging and maintenance

Vehicles with a battery management system may require battery registration or adaptation using diagnostic equipment after replacement. Use a charger suitable for the battery voltage and technology and follow the battery and vehicle instructions. Consult a qualified professional if the installation or configuration is uncertain.

    Questions before buying

Which VARTA A13 battery am I buying?

Part number A13 identifies this 12V, 40Ah, 330A battery measuring 187 × 140 × 227 mm. Capacity and starting current are separate ratings.

    Are matching dimensions enough?

No. Required technology, voltage, polarity, terminals and mounting must also match, with suitable electrical ratings. Do not downgrade an AGM or EFB technology required by the vehicle.

    How do I check polarity?

Positive terminal on the right. Check the terminal positions on the actual battery and their orientation in the vehicle; do not rotate the battery to compensate for cables that do not reach.

If searching for VARTA Blue Dynamic A13, use part number A13 and its specifications to identify the replacement. VARTA has brought its former conventional Silver Dynamic, Blue Dynamic and Black Dynamic ranges together as Dynamic SLI. A new range name does not change a conventional battery into AGM or EFB.
