Compatible battery technologies

Supports the following rechargeable battery technologies, provided that the bank voltage matches the charger output and the battery capacity and permitted charging current are respected.

TechnologyCompatibility and settings
Conventional flooded lead-acid / WETCompatible with the lead-acid programme specified by the battery manufacturer.
AGM / VRLACompatible. Use the absorption and float voltages recommended for the battery; AGM batteries do not all require the same settings.
Gel / VRLACompatible with the correct gel profile and voltage limits. Avoid overvoltage and reconditioning unless authorised by the battery manufacturer.
Lithium / LiFePO4Not recommended: Victron does not document a dedicated lithium charging programme for this model. Choose a charger with explicit LiFePO4 support.

Select the voltage and current mode specified for the battery in this Automotive IP65 model's manual. Do not confuse this range with Blue Smart: it has no lithium charging programme.

Not intended for non-rechargeable cells, NiMH or Ni-Cd batteries. Chemical compatibility does not mean that every capacity or voltage is suitable. For LiFePO4, also observe charging temperature limits and BMS protections.
