The Victron VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS type A cable connects a compatible third-party CAN-bus battery to a Victron GX device. Its 1.8-metre length provides a neat link between the battery BMS and equipment such as a Cerbo GX when both battery and system are approved for this interface.
This is not a conventional Ethernet lead and must not be replaced with a straight RJ45 cable: type A has a dedicated pinout. Connect the end labelled CAN-bus BMS to the battery and the VE.Can end to the correctly configured VE.Can or BMS-Can port on the GX device.

Victron specifies type A for BYD B-Box, Hubble Lithium via CloudLink —including AM-10+ and Blade with internal CloudLink— and selected Pylontech models such as US2000C, US3000C, UP5000 and Force-L. Compatibility may vary by product generation and firmware, so always check the current battery documentation. Models requiring type B, a standard RJ45 lead or a custom cable do not use this pinout.
Complete the system with our electrical accessories, connection cables, battery monitors and wider Victron Energy range.
No. Although it uses RJ45 connectors, the type A pinout is specific and the wrong cable will prevent correct communication.
Connect CAN-bus BMS to the battery and VE.Can to the GX device. A VE.Can port may need the 500 kbit/s CAN-bus BMS profile and the terminator specified by Victron.
No. Some generations require type A and others type B. Check the exact battery model before ordering.
