Victron RJ12 UTP 1.8m cable for BMV battery monitors

The Victron RJ12 UTP 1.8m cable (ASS030066018) connects the shunt of a BMV battery monitor to its display head unit. It is the appropriate replacement when the standard cable is too long or too short for the installation, or when an existing connection needs renewing.

Its six-conductor twisted-pair construction is designed to carry BMV signals correctly. A conventional telephone lead should not be used as a substitute: despite a similar-looking plug, it may have fewer conductors, no twisted pairs and cause incorrect readings or unreliable operation.

Can I use a telephone RJ12 lead? It is not recommended. A BMV cable requires all six conductors and the correct twisted-pair construction.

Does this cable connect the BMV to a GX device? No. This RJ12 cable links the shunt to the BMV head unit; communication with other equipment uses the relevant monitor interface.
