    Choose the right replacement for your car

    Before fitting the VARTA E11, check the 278 × 175 × 190 mm space, positive terminal position, connections and hold-down as well as the 74Ah capacity and 680A starting current. The same car model may require different batteries depending on engine, year and equipment. Fuel type or engine displacement alone does not establish compatibility.

    Capacity and starting current are different ratings

    The 74Ah rating is nominal capacity; 680A describes cold cranking current. When comparing 74Ah car batteries, check technology and dimensions too: similar or higher capacity does not automatically make a battery suitable.

    Are matching dimensions enough?

    No. Required technology, voltage, polarity, terminals and mounting must also match, with suitable electrical ratings. Do not downgrade an AGM or EFB technology required by the vehicle.

    How do I check polarity?

    Positive terminal on the right. Check the terminal positions on the actual battery and their orientation in the vehicle; do not rotate the battery to compensate for cables that do not reach.

    If searching for VARTA Blue Dynamic E11, use part number E11 and its specifications to identify the replacement. VARTA has brought its former conventional Silver Dynamic, Blue Dynamic and Black Dynamic ranges together as Dynamic SLI. A new range name does not change a conventional battery into AGM or EFB.
